Thirty things to be grateful for...
My wonderful, supportive husband who is carrying so much while I'm gone
All the things others have talked me into keeping that I've needed, like my rain pants. They double as just something warm.
All the things that I've left behind. I've learned that I don't really need them. They are just excess baggage.
A warm sleeping bag and liner.
That I can always find something to eat.
Truly wonderful albergues on nights when you need to be cared for in body, mind, and spirit.
Good people I meet along the way.
All of the encouragement I get from you.
That I can feel Gods presence in the masses I've attended here.
That, despite my setback, I'm healthier than I've been in years and can do this.
I've been blessed by two priests today. One in the morning and one at mass tonight.
My children are on their way to becoming responsible, independent young women.
They call me just to say they love me.
I have no blisters. Yay!
Poppa is doing better with Ed's care.
I am strong.
Tomorrow will be sunny.
The Meseta is more or less flat so walking should be easier for a few days.
I've had no headaches.
Mom and dad are proud of me.
A hot shower today :-)
Dark chocolate!
A warm quiet place to sleep tonight.
Real shampoo!!!
I get to spend a week with my baby in Spain at the end of this journey.
God loves me no matter what.
I can speak enough Spanish to at least start a conversation.
I can't wait to have that garage sale back home to get rid if all the unnecessary junk.
I have a full house with people who are all awesome.
I don't wake up in pain every time I move anymore. I'm getting used to this.

Great list! I love to write it down and revisit it later. Once you write it and put it out there it makes it more real. I am praying for you and stressing about you at the same time. I admire your courage and strength. I could not be more proud of you for taking on this journey.
ReplyDeleteLove you,
Julie
