Today we left the mountains for rolling hills. Finally more flat paths. My tendon on the back of my left foot is inflamed and I was glad for a place to stop.
We are leaving Basque country where they have been trying to gain independence from Spain. There is graffiti under every bridge proclaiming Basque freedom.
I had to spend a little money and buy new pants. Most of my clothes were bought last fall and I've lost so much weight in the last year that my clothes are just hanging off me. My bag has been ten more pounds than I wanted but because both it and me weigh less than I weighed a year ago I haven't tried to lighten the load. Its been a reminder of what I used to haul around and never want to go back to. I'm now ready to get rid of some of that stuff so I'm leaving a bit of my gear behind this time.
Next is Logrono, 29 k away. Pray for my tendon and my hip. I'll post pictures when I get there.
