Warm weather finally!

Yesterday it started to warm up. Its so good to feel the sun. You just feel like you can walk more and further. In the past few days we've gone from 45° to 85°… We're walking the Meseta now which is mostly flat prairie.  I've been walking with Claudette and Tambu and we've had such a pleasant time. Its also nice now that we've skipped ahead a bit that most of who we see are older folks instead of twenty something's who are out for a party. Most of the people walking this part are at least 60 and retired. The others are mostly around my age and stage of life.

Yesterday we left Burgos and stopped in Hornillos- 22k. Its a tiny town of about 100 and there was one alburgue, one restaurant, and one store. Not the most pleasant place to stay but I slept well.

Today we started early and made it all the way to this wonderful albergue in Itero De la Vega, an easy peasy 30k. We have a restaurant and store right in the complex.

I walked today in my sandals to give the tendons a break and it worked well. Needed a compeed plaster on one of my toes to prevent a blister but that's it. I feel tired but good.

I'll add pics from both days. I've thought of so much more to write while walking but now that I'm sitting it all goes out of my head.

One thing though... Today while walking past fields of grass and some trees the sound of the breeze blowing through it all made me think of all the times I went with daddy to walk along the creek back home. It made me smile and miss those days. Love you daddy!
